Branding a new landmark
restaurant, from a Michelin
Star Chef, in the heart
of Birmingham.

I was engaged to create an identity for Opheem, the first independent restaurant from award-winning chef Aktar Islam. Opheem set out to push the boundaries with Indian flavours,but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern.

The branding needed to reflect the exceptional standard of contemporary Indian cuisine and Aktar’s view that the one thing that binds people together and embeds our identity throughout the good times and the bad is food.

This lead to the creation of a circular brand mark, a unifying symbol, with an imperfect finish echoing the experimentation and creativity that goes into developing Michelin Starred food.
